Thoughts turn towards Wimbledon

Thursday, June 9th, 2011

Not to be deterred after being defeated by Rafael Nadal in the final of the French Open at Roland Garros last weekend, Roger Federer is already looking ahead to Wimbledon and the chance to claim his seventh win at the All England Club.

The 29-year-old Swiss decided against taking part in Halle, Germany at the Gerry Weber Open in order to rest his injured groin.
However, it is not long to go now until the 2011 Wimbledon Championships with the qualifying due to begin on Monday.

This year’s Wimbledon runs from the 20th of June until the 3rd of July, with ballot results being relayed to successful applicants as we speak. If you want to chance it on the day you may be able to pick up tickets by queuing at the ticket office.

For those fortunate enough to be attending this summer spectacular, one of the most economical ways to stay close by to where the action is taking place is by hiring a motorhome. These luxurious mobile homes ensure that you can live in comfort as you enjoy the tennis.

Motorhome rental is incredibly competitively priced so why not get a quote and see if it makes sense for you.

Go on tour with your favourite band

Friday, May 20th, 2011

Not all artists from America and the rest of the world embark on a UK tour every year, so it is always worth trying to make the most of it while they are here. Die-hard fans will be looking to purchase tickets for every leg of the band’s journey as they visit England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

One of the best and most economical ways to do this is through campervan or motorhome rental. This is because you can avoid having to pay the extortionate prices you will have to pay for hotel rooms in major cities and can stay just outside the centre instead, in a reasonably priced holiday park or campsite. You will also have to fork out a lot for the gig tickets themselves, so putting your money together with a few friends to hire a motorhome can be extremely cost-effective.

It can be fun as you embark on the road trip of a lifetime, following your band around from venue to venue, and watching them play live to a packed crowd every night. Life on the road for a few weeks will make the journey even more worthwhile as you get to stay in all kinds of places, meeting other fans of the band along the way.

Prince added to bill at Hop Farm Festival 2011

Wednesday, May 18th, 2011

It has been announced this week that pop icon Prince is to join Morrissey and The Eagles in headlining the Hop Farm Music Festival, his first appearance in four years.

Organisers have confirmed the presence of the 52-year-old star at the Kent-based event this coming July.

Tickets are now on sale for the three day festival which runs from Friday the 1st until Sunday the 3rd of July, with Prince performing on the final night. An extra day was added just to accommodate the singer on the bill.

The best way to enjoy this festival, which is set over 90 acres of beautiful countryside, is by camping across the three days.

Once you have purchased arena day passes for all of the travellers you can then obtain your campervan or caravan pass, costing £35 per vehicle per day. This allows for up to four people to stay in the mobile home, so the charge can be shared out between you.

Caravan rental or campervan hire is a great way of experiencing the festival to the full. You can benefit from toilet and shower units onsite and other facilities for use during the weekend.

All in all it promises to be another exciting music event, and with Prince now on the bill it is one certainly not to be missed.

You don’t always have to plan your holiday

Monday, May 16th, 2011

While it can be fun trying to plan a holiday, by deciding where to go, what you’d like to do when you get there, it doesn’t always leave a lot of room for some spontaneity. With package holidays this is certainly the case and while there are bargains to be had, prices for foreign escapades are on the rise.

The weather in the UK over the last month or so has been surprisingly good, and generally widespread, so it may be worth considering staying closer to home for your holidays this year. And with something like motorhome hire you can just decide to pack up and go wherever you feel like on the day.

When you embark on a motorhome trip you can take everything with you that you’ll need for a week or two travelling round the UK, including a map so you don’t get lost. Then it is all up to you and your travelling partner to decide where to head to.

It can be scary to set off in your mobile home without a plan, but it can also be exciting and unpredictable. You can have an amazing time on your road trip, stopping at various caravan parks and campsites along the way, enjoying the beautiful countryside and interesting towns you come across.

Going to a wedding this summer?

Saturday, May 14th, 2011

If you have been invited by friends or family to celebrate their wedding over the next few months and you know that you’ll have to travel some distance for the occasion, then you may have wondered what the most cost effective way would be to stay for the night. It may surprise you, but one thing you may not have considered but which can prove to be an ideal solution is motorhome rental.

This form of mobile home allows you to travel anywhere in the UK, and when you have to go to an expensive do such as a wedding or anniversary party and it is not within a reasonable distance from your home, it is usually the custom to book a night or two at a hotel close to where the evening reception is being held.

However, if you want to make a weekend of it but don’t want to have to splash out on staying in a posh hotel, you could always hire a motorhome and book a pitch at a local camping site or holiday park.

By deciding to hire a motorhome you will have plenty of flexibility open to you and you can make the trip more enjoyable without compromising on the comfort level.

The Peak District is a walker’s paradise

Wednesday, May 11th, 2011

For those who love nothing more than setting off from their home early in the morning and making the most of the day by going walking then the Peak District is an excellent choice for a holiday.

This upland area, which covers northern Derbyshire and parts of Greater Manchester and Cheshire, is a popular destination for walkers and mountain bikers due to its breath-taking scenery.

One of the places which really sums up exactly what the national park has to offer is Kinder Scout. You can get amazing views from the top of this moorland plateau and you will never get bored as you ascend up Jacob’s Ladder to get there.

This area of Britain is steeped in history too and the Peak District is somewhere that will always hold your interest. With miles of wild countryside to walk through and admire, there are many walks which you could choose to embark on.

If you want to come and explore the beauty of the Peak District for yourself then why not think about coming here for a weekend or longer? Through caravan hire you could stay on a camping site in the midst of the park, so you can enjoy your holiday to the full.

Campervans are still the transport of choice for festivalgoers

Thursday, May 5th, 2011

Over the years campervans have become the mode of transport associated with music festivals. From Woodstock in the 1960s to the birth of Glastonbury in the 1970s, and all the way to the present day, campervans have been present and are now considered one of the coolest ways to enjoy a festival.

Not just for hippies, this popular self-propelled vehicle, gives you a way to get to your destination as well as providing sleeping accommodation for you and your friends as well. This is why campervans have become the home on wheels for those who would rather stay in comfort at the festival than sleep rough in a tent.

The campervan fields at a festival are usually more spacious too and you can relax in the area where you have set up pitch.

As campervan tickets usually sell out fast you need to be quick, so when buying your weekend tickets to events such as Glastonbury, T in the Park or the Isle of Wight Festival, make sure you book your spot in the campervan field as well.

But as not everyone owns one of these forms of transport and would only like to use it as a means of enjoying the festival to the full, campervan rental has proved to be extremely popular.

Choosing your summer festival

Monday, May 2nd, 2011

With the coming of May, we can now all start to look forward to our summer holidays, which, for many people living in the UK, means attending one of the hundreds of festivals organised each year.

While it is certainly true that the majority of the big music festivals are already sold out at this point, there is still plenty of choice for those festivalgoers hoping to spend some time listening to music, watching outdoor theatre or enjoying other artistic pursuits.

There are festivals being held up and down the country, so be sure to take some time to search online and you will find that they are listed on the major festival websites like eFestivals. Here you can check out what is going on around you, or even somewhere further afield where you’ve always wanted to travel to.

If you decide to make the journey to the festival with caravan or motorhome hire you will be able to benefit from the myriad advantages this gives you. For a start, you can travel where you want, whenever you want and your accommodation will be right there with you. For festival-goers this is one of the most popular ways to enjoy the occasion to the full.

Live music taking you back to the sixties

Saturday, April 30th, 2011

If you have a love for camping and the great outdoors as well as a fondness for the swinging sixties then the Pickering 60s Festival will be right up your street.

This annual event which takes place in Pickering, a small town in North Yorkshire is free to attend and is held across two days in June.

The main attraction is of course the live music spanning the sixties era, with a number of local bands taking to the stage alongside headline acts.

It all is due to commence on Friday the 10th of June so there is still time to get yourself organised to make a long weekend of it in the north of the country.

In addition to the musical entertainment there are plenty of other activities planned for the weekend, including fancy dress, a parade featuring classic vehicles from the period, memorabilia stalls plus rides for children.

This is a family event so you can all hop into a mobile home and book a campsite in the area where you can stay for the two nights or more if you so wish. Caravan rental is incredibly affordable these days so you can ensure you have a comfortable place to stay while you enjoy the sixties fun at the festival.

Travel to the Motorhome Show 2011

Wednesday, April 27th, 2011

It is not long to go now until the annual event for motorhome enthusiasts gets underway. Warwickshire is the place to be this June and the venue is the Stratford Racecourse in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Held between Friday the 3rd and Sunday the 5th of June, the Motorhome Show offers visitors a chance to find out all about the latest in motorhomes and total freedom when hitting the road.

As usual, all the big names will be present at the show, with American recreational vehicles as well as European motorhomes to take a look at.

If you already have your own motorhome then this is still something you may be interested in as there will be plenty of accessories to purchase, including the opportunity of having any bolt-ons bought over the weekend fitted for you.

Why not stay across the whole weekend? And if you don’t have a mobile home yet and want to experience these luxurious vehicles first hand, then motorhome rental is a great idea to see if this really is for you or not.

You can either travel to the event in the hired motorhome, or have it delivered to the overnight camping site set up for those who want to enjoy a long weekend break. There is live entertainment planned for the Friday and Saturday nights so you will certainly be well catered for.
