Come and see the world famous boat race

The Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race has been part of the tradition between the two universities since the challenge was first put to the former by Cambridge students back in March 1829. Ever since then, the rematch of the race has been enjoyed by the many thousands of spectators who come to watch from all over the world.

It is now a major occasion in the international sports calendar and so it is no surprise that the race is attended by up to 250,000 people every single year. Just to witness the crowds lining the banks of the River Thames is a sight in itself.

There are many viewing places to see all the action between Putney and Mortlake, so why not consider going down to watch it yourself for free? The 157th race due to be held on Saturday the 26th of March at 5pm, with Cambridge leading the series by five races at present.

If you want to see if Oxford can close the gap on their rivals, simply book your caravan rental and arrange somewhere to stay for the weekend which is nearby. While the race is on there are parks where you can get food, refreshments and merchandise.
