The Northern Motorcaravan Show 2010

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

Following the success of last year’s event in York, the Northern Motorcaravan Show has now moved to the Cheshire Showground for what promises to be another top gathering for motorhome and caravan enthusiasts from across the country.

It is not long to go now until the show, which is being held from Friday the 16th to Sunday the 18th of July. At this event you can come along for a particular day, but the way to enjoy the weekend to the full is through motorhome or caravan rental.

Those who decide to camp can do so from Thursday onwards and you pay according to the day you arrive at the site. These people can also benefit from unlimited access to the exhibition area where there will be more than 200 outdoor traders and a wide variety of new and pre-owned vehicles to peruse. This gives you a distinct advantage when you consider the thousands of day visitors that will be attending over the weekend.

As well as the vehicles on show there will also be plenty of gadgets, accessories and leisurewear available to buy on the stalls. On the Saturday night there is also some special entertainment planned for attendees.

The show may have moved locations but it is still easy to find in its new home in Knutsford, which is just off the M6 motorway. If you want to make a week of it there are a number of other excellent local attractions in the area including Chester Zoo, the Trafford Centre and Tatton Park.

So, why not make a weekend or week of it and hire a caravan for the Northern Motorhome Show. You never know, it might just whet your appetitive for buying a caravan of your own in the near future.

The Wickerman Festival in Scotland

Saturday, July 3rd, 2010

If you are considering a holiday in Scotland during July and August this year then you may be interested to know that the Highland Games is on. If music and the arts is more your thing, then why not think about going to the Wickerman Festival held near Kirkcudbright over the weekend of the 23rd and 24th of July.

Tickets are still available for this great summer adventure on East Kirkcarswell Farm in the midst of the beautiful Galloway grassland. There is a top line-up this year, with eight arenas offering diverse acts from indie bands Ocean Colour Scene and The Charlatans to Tony Christie and 808 State.

As well as the music there are plenty of other things to enjoy at this excellent family friendly event including an art deco palace cinema and a children’s area.

At the festival there is a dedicated caravan and campervan field, free from tents and kept away from most of the noise. If you need to book accommodation for the weekend then be sure to check out campervan hire from a top rental company.

The highlight of this popular little festival is, of course, the torching of the giant Wickerman, keeping in with the theme of the film of the same name.

Farnborough International Airshow 2010

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

Farnborough Airfield spans across 1,100 acres of Hampshire land. The site has been a residence for the Farnborough International Air Show (FIA) since back in 1948. The last show boasted more than a hundred aircraft and was watched by around 153,000 people over a weekend, making the event one of the largest temporary exhibitions in the world.

This aviation event takes place once every two years across a week in July, with five days for trade customers and a weekend for public viewing. You will be able to see spectacular flying displays from the aircraft present.

This year’s air show is due to take place between the 19th and 25th of July and is one of the most highly anticipated following the success of 2008. The event promises to be another opportunity for those in the industry to network and take a look at a wide range of aircraft, while the public will be able to enjoy another great weekend of flying.

If you do not live in this area of the country you could always choose to make a week or weekend of it with caravan hire. For those travelling on business, the latest caravans provide comfort and luxury with their many amenities and features, while families can benefit from a roomy caravan, travelling to the air show in style.
