The logistics of hiring a campervan or caravan for a UK festival

Wednesday, March 30th, 2011

I’m sure that many of you by now have already bought your weekend camping tickets for whichever music festival in the UK you want to go to this year. In fact, many festivals like Glastonbury and T in the Park are already sold out, so it is wise to sort out your accommodation early to avoid disappointment.

When it comes to hiring a caravan or campervan for the event from a reputable rental company there are a number of things which need to be kept in mind.

Firstly, you need to make sure that you have already purchased your tickets for the festival itself, so you have authorisation to stay on site for the duration of the event.

Once you have done this the rental specialists can take care of almost everything else. They can arrange with the festival organisers to deliver the campervan or caravan to the site and gain access to the fields where the mobile home will be set up for the length of the festival.

This means that when you arrive later with your permit, the accommodation is already ready for you. The campervan or caravan will then be collected once the festival is over and you won’t have to worry about getting it back to the rental company.

Campervans and the comfort of festival camping

Monday, March 28th, 2011

When you think of camping at a UK music festival, be it T in the Park, Leeds or V, comfort is not usually the first thing that springs to mind. Seasoned festivalgoers will certainly understand what I am talking about, as it is normally a free-for-all in terms of space to pitch a tent and the facilities are often overused and the situation gets worse by the day.

This is why many music fans now choose to turn up at their favourite festival in a campervan or motorhome they have hired for the duration of the event. In terms of comfort, these mobile homes are second to none and can give you a decent night’s rest at the end of a long day stood up on your feet.

For your home on wheels, you can make good use of campervan rental and take your place in the campervan field. You can enjoy the many benefits that this gives you in terms of facilities and space, but like many things, you usually need to book your tickets well in advance.

Once you do this you can have total peace of mind that a pitch of land is being reserved especially for you and your travelling companions.

Leeds and Reading line-ups now confirmed

Saturday, March 26th, 2011

Tickets to this year’s Reading and Leeds festivals went on general sale this week after the headliners were announced as The Strokes, My Chemical Romance and Muse. The popular joint festivals always guarantee to bring in the best of rock and indie to their weekend bill.

If you are into your guitar music, although there are also plenty of alternative and dance acts on show, then Leeds / Reading may be the festival for you. The fact that there is a choice of north and south locations makes it easier for festival goers to get there and the August bank holiday weekend usually brings in the good weather.

The 2011 event is due to take place between the 26th and 28th of August at Branham Park in Leeds and at Little John’s Farm in Reading.

The best way to make the make the most of a festival like this is to get the weekend pass which also includes camping. These tickets can be purchased online from genuine sources such as See Tickets, Ticketmaster and Viagogo.

When you decide to use the camping facilities at the festival, if the thought of living in a cramped tent puts you off, why not consider campervan hire, to enjoy your stay in comfort?

The unmatched drama of the Grand National

Friday, March 25th, 2011

If you happened to witness the truly remarkable race that took place at last year’s Grand National event in person then I am sure it is something you will never forget. Even on television, the race won by the fifteenth time lucky Tony McCoy on Don’t Push It made for exciting viewing and 2011 promises to be another auspicious occasion.

For those fortunate enough to have tickets for the Grand National you are able to sample the famous atmosphere that builds up as the main event draws near. This really is one of the highlights of sport and on Saturday 9th April the only place to be is at Aintree in the north west of England.

Whether you have bought tickets for one of the stands or enclosures, or even one of the hospitality packages for this grand occasion, the next thing you need to sort out is where you will be staying for the duration of the weekend.

This is when motorhome rental comes in handy as this flexible form of transport which also doubles as your accommodation can be much more cost effective than staying in a hotel, especially when the prices will be sky high due to the interest in this global event.

Caravans are a great alternative to camping out

Monday, March 21st, 2011

If you are someone who really loves the great outdoors and likes to just get away from the rest of civilisation when you go on your holidays, then caravan hire would be perfect for you. Maybe in the past you have only really considered camping trips and staying in a tent, however it is certainly worth thinking about the more comfortable alternative.

Many campers decide to stay in a tent based purely on price. And while it is true that paying to stay on a campsite when you just bring your own flexible shelter with you is the cheapest way to enjoy the countryside, caravan rental is probably better value than you might think.

These days, you can hire a caravan and get it delivered either to the place where you want to stay on your trip or directly to your home, without the hassle of having to go pick it up. The price is also very competitive in this day and age and you will be surprised with how many mod cons and facilities these mobile homes come with as standard.

For those times when you could do with a more comfortable night’s sleep, especially after a long day walking, climbing, surfing or kayaking, caravans can prove to be the most suitable form of accommodation on a holiday in the countryside.

The racing season at Oulton Park is now underway

Friday, March 18th, 2011

Last Saturday, Oulton Park was host to the highly-anticipated Masters Historic Festival which well and truly got the new season of racing off to a good start.

The day of racing saw motors from the 1950s as well as the following two decades. There were some exciting battles going on as the cars fought for supremacy within their individual categories.

If you are a fan of these classic sports cars, single seaters and saloons, then get yourself down to the Tarporley circuit and watch some historic racing for yourself. And you still have plenty of time to get your trip to Little Budworth in Cheshire sorted out too.

The Oulton Park Gold Cup is due to be held over the August Bank Holiday weekend, on the 28th and 29th, with tickets now on sale both online and over the phone.

Should you wish to make a weekend of it, but don’t live in this part of the country then maybe you should think about motorhome hire. When you rent out a mobile home you can either choose to have it delivered to your home or directly to any UK event.

This gives you plenty of options when booking your trip to the impressive racing circuit that is Oulton Park.

The award winning driving experiences at Thruxton

Tuesday, March 15th, 2011

If well-regarded petrolhead magazine Auto Express says that the best driving experiences in the UK can be had at Thruxton Motorsport Centre then this is certainly worth taking seriously.

For those with a passion for fast driving, Thruxton is most definitely the place to come to. The circuit has won the best buy driving experience award from the publication for the third year on the trot so they must be getting something right.

Any qualified driver can benefit from a racing car driving experience at Thruxton, such as the excellent Italian Supercar experience. You can expect expert tuition and an amazing time when you get behind the wheel of one of the fastest motors out there.

These affordable driving experiences can be booked at the easily accessible Thruxton circuit in Andover, Hampshire. What’s more, if you fancy taking a break and coming to the area for a few days, you can decide to hire a mobile home, which allows you to stay close by, and in total comfort.

Driving days (in the form of gift packs) can make fantastic presents for loved ones, so why not book a motorhome and take your partner there as a surprise for their birthday?

Come and see the world famous boat race

Friday, March 11th, 2011

The Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race has been part of the tradition between the two universities since the challenge was first put to the former by Cambridge students back in March 1829. Ever since then, the rematch of the race has been enjoyed by the many thousands of spectators who come to watch from all over the world.

It is now a major occasion in the international sports calendar and so it is no surprise that the race is attended by up to 250,000 people every single year. Just to witness the crowds lining the banks of the River Thames is a sight in itself.

There are many viewing places to see all the action between Putney and Mortlake, so why not consider going down to watch it yourself for free? The 157th race due to be held on Saturday the 26th of March at 5pm, with Cambridge leading the series by five races at present.

If you want to see if Oxford can close the gap on their rivals, simply book your caravan rental and arrange somewhere to stay for the weekend which is nearby. While the race is on there are parks where you can get food, refreshments and merchandise.

Brands Hatch is a well-known British motor racing circuit, and is a former home of the British Grand Prix (1964-1986) located close to Swanley in Kent. The venue was originally used as a farmland dirt track for motorcycle racing, but is now host to a number of international events in the racing calendar.

On the 19th and 20th of March, Brands Hatch is the chosen circuit for the NG Road Racing Club Bike Championships. The club has been involved with the racing of motorcycles for 36 years now, since its formation in 1970.

If you want to see a range of top racing, from solo and sidecar events, then be sure to get down to the circuit across the weekend.

It has been confirmed that gates will be open from 8am on both the Saturday and the Sunday, with a full programme planned. Included with the tickets is free general parking and children under 13 will be admitted for free.

In Racing Green, just to the left of the main entrance to the circuit, there is a free-of-charge campsite for you to use, however there are no facilities available. You can access the site on Friday at midday and stay until midday on the Monday.

One of the best ways to enjoy the experience to the full is to make use of caravan rental, which is cost-effective and there are a number of flexible options available.
