The excitement of planning your motorhome holiday

Thursday, June 30th, 2011

When you decide to hire a mobile home to go on holiday, the planning of the journey can be really uplifting as you plot the most interesting route to take. Whether you are remaining within the UK or going further into Europe, motorhome hire has so much to offer.

At the outset it is good to do a bit of research on the internet with your travelling partner (or partners). You can talk about the kind of places you want to visit and where to end up. Road trips can be fun when you take to the open road, driving through the countryside, while motorways will obviously take you further in a shorter space of time.

Depending on how long you are going away for, as you think about all aspects of the trip, the route could be marked out on a map.

Once you start to whittle down your options into something more manageable that allows you to get the most out of the holiday you will begin to feel the buzz and can count down the days until the journey begins.

Motorhome holidays are an incredibly flexible way to travel, but it still doesn’t hurt to have a few set ideas on where you want to go and what you want to do while away.

Attending an exhibition or trade show in the near future?

Tuesday, June 28th, 2011

Exhibitions and trade shows are a great way of meeting people in your industry, whether these are potential clients or those you can discuss business partnerships with, strengthening your position in the sector. However, they do take a lot of planning and having a stand at a trade show or exhibition requires a lot of effort.

As the organisation of this type of event is usually managed by the marketing department, you may be thinking about whom from your company will be manning the stand and travelling to where it will all be taking place.

One of the main things you need to consider is affordable accommodation for the duration of the event. This is usually easier said than done as hotel prices can be a major drain on your budget. But if you considered caravan rental instead, you would benefit from a cheaper place to stay, but without the hassle.

As caravans can sleep up to six people in comfort, you can arrange as many caravans as you need to be delivered close to where the exhibition is being held. This makes it much more cost effective and you will be able to focus on the other important aspects of the planning process.

Stay close to the beach

Saturday, June 25th, 2011

One of the great things about camping and caravan holidays is that you can get to enjoy your holiday as near to the beach as safely possible. With caravan or motorhome hire you can choose to pitch your mobile home on a campsite which is perfectly placed.

This means that you can wake each morning from your comfortable bed and take the family down to the beach to catch some sun and play games on the sand. As you start to breath in that clean sea air, you will know what it is like to truly live by the beach.

These days there are many caravan parks and sites which are just a short walk away from some of Britain’s most loved beaches. Whether you want to travel down to Devon or across to Wales to savour your beach holiday, there is surely the perfect coastal resort for you to stay. As most people like to spend as much time by the sea as possible, this would be ideal.

Just a little bit of research online and you’ll soon be coming up with a shortlist of options which would enable you to simply pitch your hired motorhome close to a beach for the duration of your holiday.

Hiring a touring caravan for film location work

Wednesday, June 22nd, 2011

Hundreds of films are shot in Britain ever year and with the British Film Institute offering funding incentives and tax relief to films which qualify as British, there has never been a better time to make your movie here.

As location scouts look for the best places to shoot the production, those tasked with ensuring the film crew and cast members are well taken care of will have to think about where they will be staying for its duration.

One of the most practical and appropriate forms of mobile accommodation is caravan hire. This is due to the fact that these touring caravans can be brought to the site of the shoot and set up ready for the production to begin. As the caravan can be delivered and pitched close to where the film is being made, it means that cameras can roll at short notice and people can get a quick rest when needed.

So it is no wonder then that these touring caravans are the temporary accommodation of choice for the majority of filmmakers.
Each caravan can comfortably sleep six people and boasts a whole host of facilities including a kitchen unit, bathroom with shower, hot as well as cold running water, plus heating too.

Where do you want to begin your holiday?

Monday, June 20th, 2011

Hiring a caravan or motorhome has never been so easy. This is because some rental companies have made it more convenient for the customer than ever before. Not only can you choose from the best selection of modern mobile homes, benefitting from a number of extras, you can also decide to have the unit delivered to wherever you so wish and start your trip from wherever suits you.

If you are travelling to a UK event such as a summer festival or horse racing meeting, you can now arrange for a caravan to be delivered and pitched ready for when you arrive. Or if you’d prefer to set off from where you are based, a motorhome can be dropped off for you.

Having a nationwide collection and delivery service as part of your motorhome rental makes things so much less complicated for people. This means you can just begin your journey from the place that best fits in with your plans and you won’t have to worry about the usual logistical issues.

For those requiring emergency accommodation, this service can be of great help to them. The flexibility offered by caravan hire means it is there to fit around you and your holiday enjoyment.

Button keeps up pressure on Vettel

Thursday, June 16th, 2011

Jenson Button showed the world that there is life in him yet as he took on title rival Sebastian Vettel and beat him to the flag at the Canadian Grand Prix last weekend. This sets us up nicely for Silverstone in a few weeks’ time.

The Santander British Grand Prix which is due to take place at the famous Silverstone Circuit on Sunday the 10th July promises to be another top afternoon of Formula One car racing. The 52 laps will go a long way to deciding if the McLaren driver can catch up to the runaway leader in his Red Bull.

With Lewis Hamilton also likely to give us Brits something to shout about on the day as along with Jenson attempts the challenge of being able to win on home soil.

Tickets to this event are always in high demand and this year it will be no different. Three-day general admission tickets are still available (Friday to Sunday) and if you combine this with camping at the renowned Whittlebury Park Golf & Country Club, you will be able to stay close to the action. This is the closest camp site to the track and there is evening entertainment planned for the weekend too, so motorhome hire could be your best option.

A weekend rock festival in London

Tuesday, June 14th, 2011

If you want to visit the capital, see your favourite rock band play and make a complete weekend of it, then why not consider Hard Rock Calling 2011?

Yes, it is under two weeks away but you could be seeing The Killers, Bon Jovi or Rod Stewart headlining the concerts, which are due to take place between Friday the 24th and Sunday the 26th of June.

The stage at Hyde Park always brings out the best in the bands and this is a great event, now into its 40th year.

The venue may be located in the heart of central London, but you can still choose to stay within touching distance of the park by staying in a campsite on the outskirts of the city. This way you can save money that you would normally be expected to stay when booking a prime location hotel.

Motorhome rental is an excellent way to benefit from this situation as you can stay in a camping facility in the Green Belt area close to the River Thames. As London boasts an impressive transport network you will soon find yourself where you want to be –with the city centre just 30 minutes away by train.

Need short term accommodation fast?

Sunday, June 12th, 2011

If you have ever been victim to a fire in your home or flooding which totally devastated the property and left you in a complete mess, then you will know how much of a relief it is to find somewhere you can stay while all the repair work and insurer inspections are carried out.

This is when static caravan hire really comes in useful. Hotel bills soon rack up and if you decide on this option it can often prove to be extremely costly as you don’t know how long it will take to get your home back to a liveable standard again.

When you rent a static caravan you can rest assured that it is spacious and comfortable, with a number of rooms to relax in, cook your meals and a decent sized bedroom in which to get a good night’s rest.

As well as offering these static mobile homes for hire to those faced with emergency situations, this flexible form of accommodation, which can be delivered to any specified address within the UK, is also ideal for those who need to find somewhere to stay while they complete a self-build project.

Static caravan hire is great for commercial ventures such as filmmaking as they allow the crew and cast to stay on site and close to where the action is taking place. Whatever the reason, these caravans are available to you straight away.

Thoughts turn towards Wimbledon

Thursday, June 9th, 2011

Not to be deterred after being defeated by Rafael Nadal in the final of the French Open at Roland Garros last weekend, Roger Federer is already looking ahead to Wimbledon and the chance to claim his seventh win at the All England Club.

The 29-year-old Swiss decided against taking part in Halle, Germany at the Gerry Weber Open in order to rest his injured groin.
However, it is not long to go now until the 2011 Wimbledon Championships with the qualifying due to begin on Monday.

This year’s Wimbledon runs from the 20th of June until the 3rd of July, with ballot results being relayed to successful applicants as we speak. If you want to chance it on the day you may be able to pick up tickets by queuing at the ticket office.

For those fortunate enough to be attending this summer spectacular, one of the most economical ways to stay close by to where the action is taking place is by hiring a motorhome. These luxurious mobile homes ensure that you can live in comfort as you enjoy the tennis.

Motorhome rental is incredibly competitively priced so why not get a quote and see if it makes sense for you.

The freedom to go where you please

Wednesday, June 8th, 2011

The main selling point about choosing caravan holidays is that you have the flexibility to just do what you like, and travelling wherever takes your fancy. In this day and age when we get into our set routines it is hard to relinquish this pattern of control and be open to other things.

This is exactly what you can do when you decide on caravan hire, but you may find that you enjoy this newfound freedom. Just ask anyone who has been on one of these exciting mobile home trips where they just set off from home and travelled to somewhere they hadn’t been before; chances are they’d recommend it.

Be sure to take your sat nav with you, or even rent one from the hire company and, along with your maps, you can make sure you always know where you are at any time. You can then search for the nearest caravan or holiday park in which to stay for the night.

Whether you wish to embark on a journey to the coast and take in the sea breeze at one of Britain’s traditional seaside resorts or visit a national park to explore the wonders of the countryside, the choice is up to you.
