A truly passionate supporter (Part 2)

August 31st, 2011

In the last article we described how much commitment is required if you are a football or rugby fan who wants to see every game which your team is involved in - live. Being there makes you feel like you are lending your support to the players representing your club and you can help to influence the match in your favour.

With the new football season now underway, motorhome rental, as a combined method of travel and accommodation, could be exactly what you have been looking for.

There are many advantages to using this flexible mobile home, but to someone looking to travel across the UK with other supporters, this could prove to be a cost-effective way to share the costs of petrol, accommodation and a place where you can stay for the night. As caravan parks and camping sites are not in short supply, you will surely be able to find somewhere suitable to pitch the motorhome while you attend the match.

After the game you can stay close by for the night and travel back the next day. This means there is less messing about with trains and hotel rooms, while you can still enjoy the buzz of following your team.

A truly passionate supporter (Part 1)

August 29th, 2011

For those who are into sport and follow a particular team, it is hard to describe the loyalty you feel as a fan to those who don’t really understand the game and what it means to people like you. For instance, some football supporters are happy to watch their team every now and then, whenever they play at home, while others follow them up and down the country.

It requires a lot of devotion to attend every football match in a season, both at home and away, and this involves an awful lot of travelling, at weekends as well as during the week. This is why if you are one of the people being talked about in this blog; you may wish to look at more affordable ways to do this.

The price of attending matches is ever increasing and it can cost a huge amount of money for a ticket to see your team, especially if they play in the Premier League. Even with smaller clubs, it can still involve travelling from one end of the country to another. One solution which you may not have considered in the past is motorhome hire. In the next article we will consider some of the benefits of this to a supporter.

Emergency accommodation for when you really need it

August 26th, 2011

Over the past decade it is fair to say that the United Kingdom has experienced fluctuating weather which has at times seemed completely out of sync with the seasons. As some parts of the UK are prone to flooding, these unprecedented conditions have caused many homes to be flooded and so people have had to find alternative options very quickly.

Temporary accommodation can prove to be a cost-effective short-term solution to emergency situations caused by the weather and other factors. When you need to come up with something fast, caravan hire is something which can really help you out.

This caravan rental saves you the need to book into a hotel or rent another apartment while your home is being repaired, which can often take time. If it is due to flooding, you will only be able to move back in once it is deemed safe to do so.

It is not just homeowners who can benefit from temporary accommodation. If you need a caravan or number of caravans for a development project, movie shoot or UK event you are planning, caravan rental is there for when you really need it. You can arrange for the caravan to be delivered to any part of the UK, often at extremely short notice.

Taking the plunge and hiring a caravan is made so much easier when you have found out all about what is included with this accommodation option. Who knows? Maybe you will have such an amazing time that you would even consider buying one in the future. Attending a mobile home event is the first place to start though, opening up your mind to a whole world of possibilities.

Renting a motorhome to tour the UK

August 15th, 2011

These days it is not unheard of to book a motorhome online for the following week and then just head off into the countryside to get away from it all for a few days or even a month. It is true that most people who live in the United Kingdom rarely take up the opportunity to explore other places in England, Scotland and Wales.

Even though the foreign holiday has become so much more expensive and with the economy still so fragile, you would think that an exciting holiday up to the grand Scottish Highlands or a trip across the picturesque Welsh landscape would really appeal to holidaymakers.

There are many people who love to do these things every year, so if you want to sample the delights of travelling in a motorhome then be sure to consider motorhome rental. This way you get to try it out and explore parts of the UK where you have never been before and get to see whether touring is for you.

Motorhome holidays are becoming more and more popular as people look to control their spending by cooking their own food in the mobile home, while using the vehicle to get about as well. Renting a motorhome can be great fun and an extremely cost-effective way to travel the UK.

Packing tips for your campervan trip

August 11th, 2011

When you hire a campervan it is very exciting as you can just take off wherever you please, heading towards a particular destination or even by taking each day as it comes. However, as a campervan is not like other mobile homes such as a caravan or motorhome, you will need to ensure you have everything with you that you will need on your journey.

With campervan rental you will need to consider things like keeping your perishable food cold. A portable fridge or cool box would be ideal, as would a small camping stove for you to cook your meals outside the vehicle.

In addition to your usual clothes, which will depend on the time of year you are travelling, you will have to take anything you will require for the activities to be undertaken. This includes garments for swimming, walking or any other adventurous pursuits.

It is prudent to take a first aid kit just in case you need it. A map or satellite navigation equipment is also important, so you can keep on the right track.

There are many other items you may wish to consider, so it is worthwhile doing some further research on what you might wish to take with you in your rented campervan.

Hot air balloon fun

August 8th, 2011

One of the most iconic images of the 1956 film adaptation of Jules Verne’s Around the World in Eighty Days is of Phileas Fogg aboard a hot air balloon and although the novel only mentioned this method of transport very briefly, it has become a symbol of the story and going off on an adventure.

There are many other examples of hot air balloons in popular culture and they always seem to induce the excitement of adventurous travel.

This August it is the 33rd year of the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta. Held between Thursday 11 and Sunday 14 August, this annual event is the largest hot air balloon gathering in Europe and a huge UK outdoor fiesta.

Established back in 1979, this free admission event has now become one of Bristol’s biggest attractions with people coming from all over the world to see the show. In fact, around 500,000 visitors are expected across the four days and the big draw is always the air displays of the hot air balloons.

Don’t miss this fun packed event; motorhome rental is the perfect way to visit the city for a few days and sample the extraordinary atmosphere of the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta.
